About
Winning against all odds, Manasi Joshi is a World No. 2 Para-Badminton athlete in the SL3 Singles category.
Through sheer grit, determination and courage, she won the Gold Medal for India at the 2019 'Para-Badminton World Championship' held in Basel, Switzerland, inspiring millions with her 'never give up' attitude.
An engineer by qualification, Manasi has always been interested in badminton ever since she started playing with her father at 6.
In 2011, she lost her left leg due to a road accident. However, that did not stop her from following her dreams & in September 2015, she won the Silver Medal at the 'Para-Badminton World Championship' in the Mixed Doubles Category held in Stoke Mandeville, England.
She enrolled at the P. Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad for training in 2018 & subsequently won the Bronze Medal for India at the 'Asian Para Games' held in Jakarta, Indonesia, in October 2018.
A champion through & through, she aims to reach new heights for herself & the country.

Manasi was named one of the ‘Next Generation Leaders’ by the TIMES Magazine in October 2020. She has also made it to the BBC’s List of ‘100 Women on the Year’ in 2020. She is also the only Indian para-athlete to get a Barbie doll modelled after her on International Girls Day in 2020.
In September 2015, Manasi won a silver medal in mixed doubles at the ‘Para-Badminton World Championships’ in Stoke Mandeville, England. In October 2018, Manasi won the Bronze Medal at the 2018 ‘Asian Para Games’ in Jakarta, Indonesia. She won the gold medal at Basel, Switzerland’s 2019 ‘Para-Badminton World Championships’.
